About Rosie O' Grady's Highlanders

We are the oldest established Pipe and Drum Corp in the Central Florida area with a history going back over thirty years. Our mission is to promote Scottish Heritage and Highland music, both bagpiping and Highland drumming. We do this through teaching, competing, and performing throughout Florida. We have produced a number of award-winning pipers and drummers, some of whom have become recording artists. In recent years we have achieved success in the competition arena winning the SUSPBA Champion Supreme Award for Grade 5 in 2005, for Grades 4 and 5 in 2006, for Grade 5 in 2007 and for Grade 4B in 2009.

Learn to Play the Pipe and Drum

Rosie O'Grady's is a teaching band, and we realized many years ago the importance of passing along the knowledge that we've acquired as pipers and drummers. The band has benefited by this policy, for so many students have become supportive members and even leaders of the organization. This is why we do not charge for lessons We only require that when you have achieved your goal learning to play the bagpipe or the drum you remain with the band as a playing member. Select "Learn to Play" or Follow this link to learn more about lessons.

Performing with the Band

Rosie's currently fields competition units in grade 4a and grade 5. We are a family-oriented band and believe in allowing everyone an opportunity to participate, therefore we also perform in a variety of non-competitive venues. We are always looking for new members. If you are interested in joining our band, please contact us.
